With some decent grids we were interested to see how competitive our bikes would be. We were both to compete in the 250cc specials class and Andy would also contest the Ducati championship, the only domestic class purely for Ducati singles. The class is open to 250, 350 and 450/full 500cc machines using parts up to 1972, so specials such as the Spondon framed machines (pictured below) are eligible

The 250 specials races went well, despite a few gearbox problems for Stu, Steelcraft took 1st and 2nd in both races with Andy taking both wins
In the Ducati class Andy took a 3rd and a 4th, in both cases, first 250 home lapping 4seconds per lap faster than the next 250.

Not a bad start to the domestic season. Next meeting will be The Ducati club races at Assen in The Netherlands
